The FED Announcement

Today the FOMC lowers Fed Funds rate by 75 bps to 2.25% and cuts the discount rate another 75 bps to 2.50% following the emergency 25 bps cut over the weekend.

The Federal Reserve Cuts Its Lending Rate a Quarter Point

Today (Sunday, 03/16/08) the Federal Reserve announced it was cutting its lending rate to financial institutions to 3.25 percent from 3.50 percent to help provide relief to a spreading credit crisis.
