Exciting Earnings Day (not really, but…)

Well today was an exciting, full earnings day (there were 4 earnings reports). But with todays large downdraft, one of the four earnings reports was very well received (AZZ), one was so-so (SONC) and the other two were very well not received, if you get my meaning. I’m not so sure how investors really feel about SONC though. It traded 6 times its average daily trading volume and only rose +3.45%.

AZZ - AZZ INC. - 1/7/2008 - $32.53, up $3.68 (+12.76%)
SONC - Sonic Corp. - 1/7/2008 - $20.67, up $0.69 (+3.45%)
TXI - Texas Industries - 1/7/2008 - $61.94, down $7.28 (-10.52%)
bday - Celebrate Express, Inc. - 1/7/2008 - $6.93, down $0.91 (-11.61%)

In after-hours trade, AZZ sold off a $1.00, SONC rose another $0.26 and TXI fell $0.54 more.

Earnings season is getting near and should get rolling en masse about the 16th.
