Minimize Stress to Maximize Returns
3 January 2008Here are a few ways to minimize the stress in your trading life.
- Only make winning trades!
- Never trade when the markets are open!
- Ah, I’m just kidding…
Now for the real list.
- Learn to meditate. - I’m not really interested but I know a few people that enjoy it. Give it a try!
- Exercise regularly - This is what I do, but not for long periods. I like to get up from the desk and go for several walks a day or just outside for some fresh air. So release that stress with a physical activity you enjoy!
- Make strategies and set goals - Make plans and follow them, setting realistic goals.
- Review your trades - Learn from your mistakes. Learn from your successes. Try to recreate those successes and cut losses quickly. Cutting losses quickly really helps the stress management and plays a big part in good portfolio management.
