Nasdaq 100 Index Gets Rebalanced Monday 12/24/07
21 December 2007Yes, its time for the annual rebalancing of the Nasdaq 100 Index. It’s a basket of the 100 largest nonfinancial stocks on the NASDAQ stock exchange which lists in the vicinity of 3,100 stocks.
Basically the index is booting out its worst performers of the year which include these fine stocks:
SEPR (down 57%)
ERIC (down 43%)
ROST (down 14%)
XMSR (down 14%)
PTEN (down 13%)
The stocks below are being added:
STLD (up 80%)
FMCN (up 70%)
SRCL (up 70%)
HOLX (up 47%)
HANS (up 40%)
According to NASDAQ, the Nasdaq 100 Index underlies more than 580 products in 37 countries. So, come monday there should be a fair number of shares traded for this rebalancing.
