ACET, HOV and KKD Earnings Reports
8 September 2007Nestled in Friday’s earnings reports I came upon a real interesting one, ACET (ACETO CORP). It closed Friday at $9.20, up $0.06. Anyway it reported .17/share this quarter up from .12 last year and .07 last quarter and looks to be turning it’s ship around. However, after checking it’s news releases though the company says that they expect to take some charges next quarter and will report about .12/share. So I don’t know how the crowd will take that.
My next find was HOV - Hovanian Enterprise, the home builder. The company reported another losing quarter of -$1.27 vs last years $1.15, not worth considering but you should look at HOV’s past years earnings which will show you how bad things are at the builders that didn’t plan for the slow down in housing and ensuing subprime issues. HOV’s all time high was $73.40 set on 7/18/05. It closed Friday at $10.56 and was up +1.33% in after-hours trade.
There was one other really sad earnings report and that was from KKD - Krispy Creme. I love their donuts, but investors did not like anything, dumping the stock en masse. KKD was down $2.42 (-38.23%) Friday to close at $3.91 which is a new closing low. Its all time low was $3.35 intraday back on 1/16/06. What the heck is going on at KKD?
So do you think Crispy Kreme is a buy here? Are they starting the turnaround? Will HOV make it? Does ACET look like it will go higher? Let me know what you think in the comments.
Be sure to check out all the latest earnings reports.
