Portfolio Update: NYX - Jettisoned Today!
23 April 2007The kind, gentle analyst folks at Goldman Sachs were nice enough to issue a downgrade today on NYX from NEUTRAL to SELL, and BAM!, down it went for $6 bucks and change to close at $86.30 (I managed to get out at $86.45 for a lousy 1.28% gain).
After that and Cramer saying that it would probably not do that well this quarter as it is the last quarter without Euronext numbers in it, I decided to dump it before the earnings release. I will look for something better. However, I was able to hold onto a small gain in the position. Watch, since I sold today, it will probably tick higher tomorrow.
Right now I am kicking myself for going with NYX and not FWLT, which was “Best of the Best” stock last quarter. It has went from about $56 to $69.39 (+24%) or the FlyOnWallstreet’s MVIS pick which I could have pulled the trigger on back at $3.00 and closed today at $4.50 (+50%).
Oh well, enough feeling sorry for myself. It’s just I hate getting wacked from nowhere right before the earnings report by analyst downgrades.
