Wikipedia Search Engine Wikiseek.com Launches
16 January 2007There’s a new search engine in town… It’s Wikiseek.com. As you probably guessed, it only searches Wikipedia sites and sites that are linked to from Wikipedia. The caveat is the search results should be high quality with little spam showing up. The results also include a tag cloud of the Wikipedia categories for that search term. It is also a better search engine than the one on Wikipedia and is blazing fast.
Now you wonder how this ties to investing. Well it shows ten (10) Google text ads on every search results page. Wikiseek.com donates “a majority of the revenue” to the Wikimedia Foundation. And of course Google gets their share.
The site went live this morning and will have an official launch tomorrow.
I like it and will probably use it often.
