New Year with New IPO’s
14 January 2007Since this is the beginning of the new year, I think its time for a little review on buying IPO’s. You should read this post on buying IPO’s first.
What I am going to do is review the three stocks that fit the requirements from IPO’s listed in October 2006. First up is RVBD which IPO’d on 9/21/06, pricing at $9.75 and opening at $14.60. Here is their chart through last Friday.

Entry above the 9 day simple moving average would have been around $20.00 with the high being about $35.00.
The next IPO to meet the requirements was MR which IPO’d on 9/26/06, pricing at $13.50 and opening at $16.06. Here’s their chart.

Entry would have been around $17.00 with the high being about $27.00.
Last one is BARE which IPO’d on 9/29/06, pricing at $22.00 and opening at $28.00. Here is their chart, which is a bit more volatile but still profitable.

Entry would have been around $30.00 with the high so far about $35.00.
All three IPO’s differed in their start but buying in at the 9 day simple moving average would have been profitable in all three stocks.
Maximum gains possible were…..
RVBD: $20 TO $35 for a 75% gain.
MR: $17 to $27 for a max 58% gain.
BARE: $30 to $35 for a max 16% gain.
I’m hoping for another year with lots of good IPO’s to choose from.
Harvey
