FED Raises … Again

As expected, the Fed’s Open Market Committee raised the nation’s short-term benchmark rate by a quarter percentage point to 2.75 percent. However, in its policy statement, the Fed seemed unworried about inflationary pressures, saying that although “pressures on inflation have picked up in recent months,” rates could still be raised at a measured pace.
